
Position Overview
**In Summer 2020, with a few exceptions, Drobots Company will conduct all of its camp programs virtually/remotely. In other words, Drobots Company will not be running any in-person or on-location programs, so all jobs will be conducted remotely in an at-home work environment.
The Instructor Role:
While leading a wide variety of high energy, camp activities and classes in a virtual meeting space for campers ages 5 – 6 years old, an instructor is directly responsible for the safety, enjoyment, and emotional well-being of every camper, every minute, of every session. Instructors rely on supplied curriculum to guide daily camper activities, but are expected to apply their classroom management skills and over-the-top enthusiasm to enhance the experience of every camper. Compensation for this position begins at $14.00/hour and is based upon experience and location.

Training and Pre-Camp Responsibility:
- Complete all assigned mandatory online training modules prior to the first day of work.
- Virtually attend weekday/weekend evening remote webinar training (Early May – Early June).
- Complete and fulfill any company requirements outlined in onboarding.
Technology Equipment and Experience Necessary:
- Access to computer or laptop with video conference capabilities (webcam/microphone) and a strong Wifi Connection
- Our training accommodates those with a positive attitude and the willingness to learn how to translate your in-person camp/classroom experience to a virtual camp setting.
Responsibilities
Job Description:
As a Virtual Camp Instructor, your primary responsibilities are:
- Creatively engage with campers ages 5 – 6 in a virtual setting
- Use passion for instructing children to inspire and serve as role model for campers
- To be punctual, professional, and flexible at all times
- Consistently represent yourself and the company with a positive, energetic and professional approach
- Provide direct supervision and behavior management of campers
- Deliver engaging, safe, and exciting activities as outline in supplied curriculum
- Ensure a fun, safe, and positive experience for all campers
To successfully complete these responsibilities, you will be asked to:
- Assess and implement the provided curriculum to meet the interests and needs of campers in your group
- Follow the lesson plans to foster a fun, yet somewhat challenging learning environment
- Monitor camper behavior and discover creative approaches to keep all campers excited and engaged
- Create a nurturing learning environment for our campers
Hours and Availability
Hours:
30 – 40 hours per week
Availability:
Instructors are hired to work 7-12 one-week sessions between June 1 and August 28. We hire instructors based on availability to join our team for the majority of the camp season, with a preferred minimum of seven weeks. Please consider your availability and your ability to arrange reliable, un-interrupted time and space to conduct virtual camp before applying. Specifics of your assigned schedule will be discussed in your final interview.

- Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy, and exceptional enthusiasm all day, every day, for the duration of the summer

Experience & Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Still in college? Apply for one of our Counselor Positions!)
- 1+ years experience teaching and/or managing children in a group setting (experience working in a camp or school setting is a plus)
- 1+ years of behavior management experience with kids/teens
